The life of every person on earth is completely connected with water. Not a single person on the planet can exist without it. And how? After all, the body of an adult man or woman itself is, on average, 70 - 80% water. Water and its quality affects everything - the condition of the skin, hair, the performance of internal organs and, in general, human health and condition.
Why is water so important for skin health?
The skin is the same human organ as the heart, brain, stomach, etc. And, like any other organ, the skin needs water: for the circulatory system to work stably, so that the cells grow and divide correctly, so that toxins are removed, etc.
In addition, the lower layer of the skin - the dermis - contains intercellular fluid, the basis of which is, of course, water. And the collagen fibers located in the same place also cannot live without water. When our skin lacks moisture, the amount of intercellular fluid decreases, collagen fibers dry out, become thinner and curl. This skin is called dehydrated skin.
Is it harmful to wash your face with tap water?
The answer depends on the region you live in. You can find out the composition of the water by passing it for an expert examination. But, most likely, the water will be hard (this means that it contains a lot of magnesium and calcium). In addition, city water contains chlorine. This “cocktail” dries the skin a lot and can cause irritation.
To avoid negative consequences, ideally it is better to wash your face, as well as wash your hair and take a shower with filtered water.
We can safely say that clean water is the best way to care for your skin and for the whole body as a whole. Modern, really high-quality water purification systems nowadays are able to ensure the supply of clean and healthy water to your home, which will take care of your skin!
