An insert with a softening ion-exchange resin is used to increase the resource for removing hardness salts from water and to prevent the formation of scale on heating devices. It is possible to restore the properties of the ion exchange resin (regeneration) at home. The frequency of regeneration depends on the degree of hardness of the water.
