Corosex Corosex 18,7ltr / 23kg bag

Corosex granular material is used to regulate the acidity of water and dose magnesium ions into the water. Corosex granules are composed of magnesium oxide (min. 97%). Dissolving gradually, Corosex passes into water as magnesium hydroxide. In addition, free carbon dioxide contained in the water is neutralized in the intergranular space and on the surface of the granules.

Corosex is advisable to use in high-speed processes when it is necessary to increase the pH of the water. On a weight basis, Corosex is able to neutralize 5 times more acid than calcium carbonate.

The disadvantage of the material is that during interruptions in work or low flow rates in water in contact with the material, the pH increases significantly (up to 10.5). With a high content of calcium ions in water, precipitation of calcium hydroxide and "cementing" of the load can occur.

A filter loaded with Corosex is usually installed before the softener, as the material increases the hardness of the water.

Corosex can be mixed in a 1: 1 - 1: 5 ratio with Calcite filter media, which is less reactive. At the same time, during interruptions in work or low water flow rates, the pH of the filtrate increases to no more than 9. Mixed filling allows you to save more expensive Corosex and more smoothly regulate the pH value.

Benefits
  • One of the few non-ion exchange filter materials capable of increasing the pH
  • Effective in water pretreatment processes for iron and manganese removal
  • It is possible to use in the processes of conditioning low-mineralized water with magnesium ions without the use of dosing complexes
